Born in 1961, Patrick Villas is a contemporary Belgian sculptor who is currently living and working in France. He studied drawing and painting at the school of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Like his precursor Rembrand Bugatti, he spent hours observing the felines at the Antwerp Zoo which, in 2002, commissioned him to do a sculpture of a jaguar for its gardens. The Belgian earthenware factory Royal Boch also commissioned him to do a series of animals.
In 2016 he had a big exhibition at the Centre d'Art Contemporain Matmut in Rouen , France.
