Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE.

A redware dog effigy vessel, presenting a lively puppy laying beneath one side of a bowl, the bowl further supported by a pair of legs on the opposite side. While most collectors of Pre-Columbian pottery are familiar with puppies coming from the Colima region, ceramic canines from Jalisco are relatively rare. 

Size: 5.75" L x 7.5" W x 3.375" H (14.6 cm x 19 cm x 8.6 cm)
